Additionally, if you are under 16, you will have to enroll in a state-approved motorcycle safety course. Once you receive your permit, it will be valid for six months and you will be restricted to daytime riding without passengers.
The Class M written knowledge test will cover road rules, safe riding techniques, traffic signals, and road signs, among other topics. To prepare, you can take a North Dakota driver's license practice test. Give yourself the best chance of success - use our Cheat Sheet and "cheat" your way through it!Learn More >
In order to apply for a commercial driver's license (CDL) permit, you must be at least 18 years old. To obtain your permit, you will first have to self-certify the type of commercial vehicle that you will be driving or intend to drive, as well as what type of commerce you will be conducting and that you pass any applicable medical requirements. This self-certification process will determine what type of license you require (Class A, B, or C).
Once it has been determined what license you need, you will be given the CDL general knowledge exam, which covers road rules, trucking regulations, vehicle maintenance, and safe driving techniques. If you pass your written knowledge test, you will receive a permit. This permit will allow you to operate a commercial vehicle while supervised by a licensed instructor in the State of North Dakota. Pass your written knowledge test on your FIRST TRY. Use our Cheat Sheet and be on your way to becoming a commercial driver!Learn More >
