Once you pass this test, you will be granted restricted driving privileges.

Maine Motorcycle License

Before you can apply for a motorcycle permit in the State of Maine, you must be at least 16 years old. If you are less than 18 years of age, you will also have to complete a state-approved driver's education course for a standard driver's license. Finally, you must complete the Maine Motorcycle Safety Education Course (MMSEC) at some point prior to applying for your permanent motorcycle license (if you are a minor).

To obtain your permit, you will have to take and pass a written knowledge test. This test covers safe riding techniques, Maine traffic statutes, and road signage, among other related topics.
